Solid profiles carry load; sponge profiles seal with less force.
Both solid and sponge (foam) rubber profiles are extruded on the same production lines, but the compound and curing process are adjusted to give very different mechanical properties. Choosing the right type depends on your sealing gap, closure force and environmental exposure.

Solid rubber profiles
Dense, durable and strong. Solid profiles are used where the seal must support weight, resist cutting or maintain a precise shape. Typical applications include anti-collision strips, heavy-duty gaskets and wear pads.
Sponge / foam rubber profiles
Closed-cell or open-cell sponge is much lighter and compresses easily. It is ideal for door seals, enclosure gaskets and appliance seals where a small closing force must fill an uneven gap. We can control density, hardness and cell structure to match your water, dust or noise requirements.
