What are your size limits and wall-thickness tolerance?

What are your size limits and wall-thickness tolerance?

1.5 mm inner diameter up to 110 mm outer diameter.

The extruders and dies we run cover everything from thin capillary tubing to hose that is used as a protective sleeve. Below is the range we quote most often; anything at the edges can be checked against existing tooling before you commit to a mould.

Range and tolerance

  • Inner diameter: from 1.5 mm.
  • Outer diameter: up to 110 mm.
  • Wall thickness and key dimensions: plus or minus 0.5 mm on standard extrusion.
  • Length: continuous coils, or cut to a fixed length on our automatic cutting line.

Why the tolerance is stated as a number

A tolerance only means something when the measurement method is fixed too. Key dimensions are checked at setup and at intervals during the run, and the inspection report states the gauge used. If your drawing calls for something tighter than plus or minus 0.5 mm, send it over: we will say directly whether the die and the compound can hold it instead of accepting the order and sorting out the scrap later.
